Sai Bhajans app · Effective September 29, 2026
Sai Bhajans is a free app made by Swami Venkat to help people practice and sing Sai bhajans. It has no ads, does not track you across other apps or websites, and never sells your information. This page explains what the app keeps on your phone, the little it sends to our server, and how to delete it.
What stays on your phone
- The bhajans you save (Liked, Want to sing, Sung) and the pitches you sang them in.
- Family members you add, their names, relations and voices. These never leave your phone.
What we collect, and why
When you finish setting up the app, it sends the following to our server so we know who is using Sai Bhajans and can tell you about new features. Everything except the app details is optional; you can skip any question.
- Your first name, if you enter it.
- Your email address, if you enter it. We only use it to tell you about the app. No newsletters from anyone else.
- The Sai Center you go to, and how you take part in bhajans (sing, play, listen), if you choose them.
- How many people are in your family list (a number only, never their names).
- A random ID made for this install of the app, your phone's platform (iOS or Android) and the app version.
This information is stored with Supabase, our database provider, on servers in the United States. Only the app maker can see it. We don't share it with anyone.
Microphone and your singing
When you tap to find your pitch, the app listens through the microphone. Your pitch and raga are worked out on your phone.
To recognize which bhajan you are singing, the app holds that one recording in memory while you sing. When you tap I'm done singing, it sends the recording through our server to Google's Gemini service, which turns the singing into words. The app then matches those words against the bhajan list on your phone. Our server only passes the recording along and does not save it, and the app discards it right away. We use Google's paid Gemini service, so Google does not use your recording to improve its products; it may keep it for a short time only to detect abuse, as described in the Gemini API terms. The app never listens or records at any other time.
Song details
Lyrics, meanings, pitches and recordings come from Sai Rhythms. When you play a recording, it streams from their website. The list of Sai Centers comes from the public directories of the Sathya Sai organizations in the US.
Deleting your data
In the app, open Bhajans, scroll to the bottom, tap Swami Venkat, then tap Delete my data. This deletes what we collected from our server and erases your profile, family and saved bhajans from your phone. You can also email swami@qtr.ai and we'll delete it for you. Deleting the app erases everything stored on your phone.
Children
Sai Bhajans is made for families. Children's names added to a family list stay on the parent's phone and are never sent to our server. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.
